The GM New Vehicle Purchase Program provides eligible employees, retirees, and surviving spouses who reside in the U.S. with exceptional savings on new GM cars and trucks. 1) All of the following are eligible to purchase a GM vehicle through the New Vehicle Purchase Program:
Active and regular employees of GM Regular retirees and surviving spouses GM scholars and college interns - eligible during their period of employment (family members not eligible) Employees laid off or on approved leaves of absence

- Less than 10 years of service / First 12 months

FAQs
Are my purchases allotted by model year or by calendar year?
Your allotment of purchases refers to the number of vehicles you can purchase per model year. You cannot carry over an unused purchase allotment into the next model year.
How many GMS vehicles can I buy?
Ordinarily the limit is four vehicles per model year but from time to time you may purchase or GMAC SmartLease up to six vehicles per year.
Can my Certificate be used for more than one purchase?
No. The Certificate can be used for one purchase only. New Certificates should be obtained for each additional purchase.
What is the GMS discount?
The GMS discount varies by model, is significantly below normal retail selling prices, and is even well under dealer invoice. The GMS price is listed on the dealer invoice and is available for inspection upon request.
What about incentives?
Vehicles purchased under the GMS program are eligible for most, but not all, GM-sponsored retail incentives that are available on the date you take delivery of the vehicle.
Can I use my GM Card points?
Until July 31, 2003 earnings accumulated by holders of the standard Blue or Gold GM Card may be applied toward the purchase or GMAC SmartLease of a GMS Chevrolet vehicle under this program. After that the GM Card will offer a new GM Family card that will earn 1% of purchases that may be used toward vehicles purchased under the GMS program. Blue and Gold cardholders can choose to retain their cards and use the earnings toward non-GMS purchases or convert their current card to the new GM Family card. The Copper or Platinum GM Card earnings may not be used in combination with the GM New Vehicle Purchase Program. GM Card earnings may not be applied to the purchase of a Company-Owned vehicle under this program.
What are my financing options?
Financing can be arranged through GMAC or other available sources at our dealership. Leasing arrangements for the New Vehicle Purchase Program can only be made through a GMAC SmartLease.
How long must I retain my vehicle?
Vehicles purchased with cash or through financing must be owned by the purchaser for at least six months from the date of delivery. Vehicles leased through GMAC SmartLease must be retained by the lessee for at least one year from the date of delivery. While the rules of GMAC may permit the reassignment of a lease, the rules of the GM Vehicle Purchase Program do not allow it.
Are grandchildren eligible to purchase under this Program?
Yes. Effective October 1, 2000, grandchildren may be sponsored by eligible employees, regular retirees, and non-remarried surviving spouses.
GM Supplier Employee Purchase Program Discounts
If you are employed by an eligible GM supplier, you may qualify to receive the GM Supplier Discount.
